Not According to Plan

We all have plans for our lives—good jobs, happy marriages, successful ministries, peaceful retirements. But what happens when God's plan collides with ours? This powerful message explores the tension between our limited human blueprints and God's eternal design. Drawing from the story of Saul's dramatic encounter on the Damascus road, we discover how God sometimes needs to knock us off our high horses to redirect our steps. Saul thought he was doing God's work, persecuting Christians with religious zeal, until a blinding light revealed he was actually kicking against the goads—hurting himself by resisting God's true plan. The transformation from proud persecutor to humble apostle teaches us that surrendering our plans doesn't mean losing our purpose; it means finding our true calling. Romans 11:29 reminds us that God's gifts are irrevocable—even when we mess up, His calling remains. The question isn't whether we'll face hardship or disappointment, but how we'll respond when our carefully constructed plans crumble. Will we shake our fists at heaven, or will we fall to our knees asking, 'Lord, what do You want me to do?' This message challenges us to examine whether we're living according to our own blueprints or trusting the Master Architect who sees the complete picture of our lives.
